We work like most employment agencies - there's no fees for you and it does not cost you anything to register with us. We specialise in temporary hospitality (housekeeping, kitchenhanding, cheffing, waiting), labour and administration but being such a diverse town, Queenstown needs all sorts of people with different work experience.

For your information the busiest time of year in relation to work is Dec-March. There is always plenty of work in town, both temporary & permanent. The quietest time of year is May-July. This is not the best time to arrive if you need work straight away. Should you wish to apply for positions on the local ski fields (Coronet Peak & The Remarkables) start looking on their website (www.nzski.com) around February.

Types of Work Available:

HOSPITALITY

With so many hotels, motels and lodges in Queenstown hospitality is the biggest industry in relation to employment. Addstaff regularly has work in the following areas:

Function Staff - You will need some experience in waitressing/waitering, have black pants & black covered shoes and can expect to work at conferences, weddings and special events. Function shifts can vary in hours but are normally afternoon/evening shifts.

Room Attendants - Expect to work mainly day shifts, starting between 8-9am and finishing anywhere between 3-5pm. We often have a varied supply of shifts in either large hotels (where they often provide lunch) or smaller lodges. Room Attendants do not need previous experience but any cleaning experience you have is helpful.

Kitchenhands - Shifts can be either early mornings or afternoon/evenings and are usually based in the larger hotels. You will need some previous kitchen experience.

Chefs - You will be a qualified Chef and can expect to work all different types of shifts. Most work is based in hotels and occasionally for catering companies around Queenstown.

LABOURING

With the building boom in Queenstown there is always plenty of labouring work available. It can vary greatly and can be helping out on a building site, delivery driving, landscaping, counting traffic or setting up marquees for events. Always interesting and varied.

ADMINISTRATION

Administration work is not as common as hospitality in Queenstown but is still very much available, particularly on the permanent side of things. As for temporary assignments it can vary between straight reception to working as a legal secretary. You will need neat, office attire and previous administration experience. Hours are generally Mon-Fri 9-5pm.
